====== INSTEON Interfaces ======

Indigo supports the following (currently shipping) INSTEON interfaces. We do not include discussion of discontinued interfaces. Both of these interfaces require the use of the FTDI Virtual Comm Port (VCP) drivers. See the appropriate documentation to install and configure the interface:

A note to users in Europe, Australia, and New Zealand: we currently **do not** support INSTEON in your region because INSTEON has not developed a USB interface for your area. We're hoping that they will eventually come out with one but we haven't heard anything from them yet. We encourage you to contact [[http://www.insteon.com|INSTEON]] and ask them about a USB interface for your region.

===== PowerLinc Modem 2413U =====

This is the interface that we recommend. It's dual-band, very fast, and supports extended INSTEON messages. It supports X10 for legacy applications.

===== PowerLinc Modem 2448A7 =====

This interface is for those that can't connect their interface directly to the wall. It's an RF-only INSTEON dongle and therefore doesn't support X10. It will require dual-band modules so that commands can be bridged to the power line to enable communication with power line only INSTEON devices.
