Load

When a device is directly connected to electricity, it's said to be connected to the load. So, load refers to power. For instance, a KeypadLinc has 6 or 8 buttons. In the 6 button configuration, button 1/2 and button 7/8 are said to be connected to the load, because they directly control the light that they are wired to.
